Outside Over There was a group project made at university using Unreal Engine. The end deliverable for the project was to create a trailer showing off all gameplay elements. I was a game designer on this project, but I also incorporated the tasks of a level designer into my role. My main duties were conceptualising and scripting gameplay mechanics, as well as designing the layout of the levels and whiteboxing them. Our game came joint 1st in the final presentation - as voted upon by developers from Epic Games, 22 Cans and Mere Mortals. The game is based around a detective called Ida, who is employed by Optec - an artificial intelligence system that regulates almost every part of the city's structure. He has been tasked with finding a child who has been kidnapped by a street gang known as the Goblins.
